IS Finance Manager

Here's your chance to join Vodafone, the world's leading Mobile Telecommunications company as a Finance Manager, supporting Information Systems within the AMAP region. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Finance Manager to interact with multiple group teams and local markets across the emerging market footprint. Key skills required are the ability to manage and influence senior stakeholders, to highlight issues and opportunities across Information Systems in the emerging markets and drive the focus on AMAP within IS Finance and the wider IS community. Candidates will ideally have a background in the Telecommunication sector, or will have supported IT functions from a FDS perspective within a large multinational company.

As part of the overall Group Technology (GT) community, the Information Services (IS) Area in emerging markets is expected to spend approximately £600m in FY 11/12 including large transformational programmes aiming to support new services and capabilities such as Supermobile Billing and Cross Channel.

With focus on Information Systems (IS) business in Emerging Markets:

• Drive IS financial benchmarking and ensure best practice sharing across local markets.
• Ensure key finance activities aligned to overall IS strategy.
• Provide insight to AMAP region and IS Leadership team.
• Be a key member of the IS Finance team and drive forward the teams overall objective.
• Develop an open and two way relationship with local markets.
• Lead and manage a small team.
• Provide IS capital performance analysis.
• Provide input to management decision-making process for key transformational programs and investment, driving and developing processes for doing so as required.
• Provide visibility to IS Leadership team, including identification of risks, opportunities and financial recommendations.
• Work with local markets and AMAP Regional team to ensure that savings relating to specific IS initiatives are correctly embedded in local market plans.
• Support Head of IS Finance in forecasting cycles and operational business reviews.

Qualifications:

Knowledge and Experience:

We are looking for a highly driven, output focussed finance professional, with a passion for continuous improvement and gravitas to instil confidence and inspire others.

• Strong financial background and experience in managing and developing a decision support function.
• Professional experience within a commercially orientated environment.
• Strong technical and commercial understanding of IS- and Telecommunication market.
• Experience of working in a complex organisation, cross cultures and locations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills (very good English language skills spoken & written).
• Exposure to working with Senior Management teams. Proven ability to influence and build relationships at a senior level. Ability to balance complex detail with wider commercial matters.
