Job description
Our client, a rapidly growing insurance underwriting company, based in the London City is currently looking to recruit a Finance and Operations Director to join its business. Having hit 40% up on budget in 2008 they have big plans to more than double the turnover over the next 3 years. Reporting directly to the MD you will partner proactively with the Business Leaders to realise their goals of growing the business. Responsibilities: providing advice and guidance to the Board on key financial matters and decisions; responsibility for providing a suite of financial management information for monitoring the financial performance (actual, forecast, budget, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow); to review and challenge the performance to ensure that results are optimised; review and coordination annual trading budgets and part-year re-forecasts; responsibility for all operational aspects of the business, including compliance and regulatory matters, processes and procedures, IT, HR, supplier relationships and office management; appraisal of business development opportunities presented and advising on accounting and tax implications in an international environment; contributing strategic agenda on financial and operational issues; ensuring that an adequate level of financial and operational controls are in place; managing and developing the companies finance, compliance and operational teams including annual reviews and career development.
