Job Summary
A fantastic opportunity has arisen with SPX Corporation for an Internal Audit Manager. This individual will be responsible for planning, performing and reporting high quality financial, internal control and continuous improvement audits across SPX with a focus on newly acquired businesses in the EMEA region. This includes the recent acquisition of Clyde Union Pumps, a leading global supplier of pump technologies that are utilised in oil and gas processing, power generation and other industrial applications.
The successful candidate will have a strong audit background with excellent communication and project management skills and an executive presence. There is the option to be based out of an SPX Office in Glasgow, Crawley or Manchester.
Responsibilities:
- Champion the Corporation’s internal audit function under the direction of the EMEA Internal Audit Senior Manager.
- Provide input into IA functional strategy, including EMEA staffing, structure and leadership direction.
- Lead advisory and attestation efforts of internal control design and operation effectiveness of a significant newly acquired business headquartered in the United Kingdom.
- Plan, perform and report high quality business unit audits in accordance with the Annual Internal Audit Plan, with a particular focus on the newly acquired business.
- Communicate audit findings and recommendations with confidence and awareness of operational impact.
- Assess audit findings for financial statement adjustments and internal control deficiencies, including validating Management’s testing of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Conduct special projects as authorised by SPX Internal Audit Director.
- Extensive travel potential, largely regional in nature.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a leading auditing firm(s) and/or multinational industry finance environment.
- Industrial/manufacturing industry experience highly recommended.
- US GAAP/IFRS experience with complex aspects of financial reporting (eg, revenue recognition, inventory valuation, contingent liabilities, restructuring, income taxes, foreign currencies, etc.
- Chartered Accountant qualification or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Must be self-directed with excellent initiative and organisational skills.
- Works well under pressure and able to deliver on time.
