Job description
DMJ Finance is currently recruiting for a Legal Cashier/Purchase Ledger Role to join a Top 50 UK Law firm's finance department based in Central London. This individual will be responsible for the handling of routine cash transactions for the firm, including the payment of all expense requests received from Partners and employees (and other duties, as outlined below). Duties & responsibilities: processing expense claims; drawing office cheques and posting requisitions; posting invoices for future payment; processing and posting of office CHAPS/SWIFT/BACS payments; liaising with the firm's bank in respect of currency transactions and queries; liaising with the Customer Services team at the firm's bank; inputting transactions onto the RBS Bank line banking system; assisting the Client and Office Account Supervisor and/or the Legal Cashiers Manager with any ad hoc duties, as appropriate. Required technical experience and skills: previous experience of working within a cashiering environment; experience of working in a law firm or a professional services environment would be an advantage; computer literate, with a good working knowledge of MS Office, eg Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; good knowledge of an accounting system, ideally Elite. Personal attributes: excellent written and verbal communication skills; can clearly explain problems and issues to others and contribute to their resolution; able to prioritise and multi-task particularly when working under pressure and to tight deadlines; able to interact positively at all levels and a good team player; flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances; can demonstrate confidence and resilience to overcome obstacles to deliver what is required; hardworking and enthusiastic approach to work; professional in outlook, attitude and appearance.
