Job description
An exciting and challenging opportunity currently exists for a motivated and experienced Analyst to join a rapidly expanding and prestigious blue-chip organisation based in the Hertfordshire area. The primary responsibility of this role is analyzing and developing solutions for operational problems. One of the main activities is to break down large quantities of data to support commercial decisions. You will also process and model this information in a mathematical form requiring a strong mathematical background and outstanding logical thinking; analysis and reporting of market trends and performance, making recommendations for sales growth and market share; drive evolution of reporting solutions and challenge status quo throughout the business; data manipulation and analysis to support strategic and other ad-hoc commercial initiatives using multiple internal and external data sources; advanced modelling to support new business development opportunities and work on other strategic issues e.g. forecasting potential sales achievable for new product categories; review and analysis of competitor activity including pricing data to support the category planning and business development processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, advanced MS Excel, Access and exposure to SQL or similar programming language. Strong communication, analytical and influencing skills are essential. You will be highly numerate and comfortable with dealing with large amounts of data, able to pick out trends and provide insight.
