Job description
The purpose of the role is to provide finance support to a group of units, involving day-to-day contact with unit staff and regular meeting with senior members including unit directors. You will monitor units' accounts and report progress against budgets and five year plans to corporate centre and to liaise with the Shared Service Centre. Specifically: full management accounting service covering operational and capital spend; budget preparation; assistance with preparation & submission of 5 year plans; monitoring and reporting monthly performance against budget and 5 year plan to unit directors and corporate centre; preparing monthly management accounts (reviewing accounts and preparing journals and accruals) and producing forecasts of spend. Providing financial advice to unit operational staff. Ideally, you will be a part-qualified or qualified Accountant with experience in supporting finance and non finance based managers. You should have management accounting experience.
