Job description

We are the main UK government agency for funding research and training in engineering and the physical sciences, investing over £700 million a year in a broad range of subjects - from mathematics to materials science, and from information technology to structural engineering. Keep our Forecasting and Budgeting processes at the cutting edge of Technology.

As part of our ongoing modernisation agenda, we are establishing a Shared Services Centre that will deliver considerable efficiency improvements and cost savings. You will implement effective new forecasting and budgeting processes and lead the delivery of management information and data migration for the Finance Workstream, placing you at the heart of this very exciting venture. To this end, you will align organisational design and systems functionality with the Shared Services Centre operational strategy, schedule and execute some far-reaching projects and design cutting-edge policies and practices, stretching your analytical skills to the full.

Naturally, you are highly experienced in all aspects of forecasting and budgeting, including all associated reporting requirements, and well versed in the use of MI tools. At the same time, familiarity with business process redesign would be a huge asset, and you will be very IT-literate, extremely self-motivated and determined to make a real and measurable difference.
