Job description

Role: to participate in the effective financial management of the Examinations department by acting as the Finance contact person. This responsibility includes assisting and supporting managers and staff of the department in the preparation of financial budgets and forecasts, generating monthly management accounts and notifying the client department that these are available, analysing monthly management accounts for significant variances, obtaining explanations for these, drawing up suitable narratives and providing additional financial analyses and advice. Also required to provide financial and systems training to Department Managers. Candidate: AAT Membership, or equivalent Maths and English – good GCSE pass (or equivalent); knowledge of management accounting concepts, principles and techniques, and their application; knowledge of budget setting & budgetary control; knowledge of Charity Restricted Funds and their regulation an advantage; computer literate, strong PC analytical skills, especially Excel spreadsheets; strong experience of using computerised accounting systems and report writers; experience of using Dynamics/FRx an advantage.
