Job description
A Management Accountant is needed for our client a reputable & recognisable service business in Manchester. This is a key post to take accountability for the business reporting. It will be the responsibility of this role to prepare the planning & monthly management accounts for a particular area of the business & to ensure the integrity of financial control from both a reporting & a cost control perspective. Key accountabilities will be: to deliver budgets & forecasts, ensure intercompany balances are all aligned, all Balance Sheet Reconciliations to be complete & no items over 1 month old are to remain unresolved, ensure any disputed intercompany charges are agreed with the relevant stakeholders, ensure any Cheque's, BAC’s or same day payments are submitted on the same day & scrutinised for compliance, ensure the necessary controls are maintained over the purchase order book. The successful candidate will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA Finalist or qualified & have a strong academic background coupled with experience of preparing management accounts, preparing an annual budget, resilience to working to tight deadlines & willing to put in extra effort as & when required by the business. High IT literacy & excellent Excel spreadsheet skills are essential - some experience of Access databases would be an advantage; experience of implementing change & embracing change on new accounting systems & implementing procedural business changes; a ‘can-do attitude’ to new issues & challenges.
