Assistant Management Accountant – Leyland – Excellent Salary & Career progression
Qualifications, Experience & Salary Expectations:
- Part-qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
Reports:
- Direct report to: Management Accountant.
- Indirect report to: Finance Manager.
Roles & Responsibilities – Weekly:
- On the DOA to check and authorise low level PO spend (to enable the Management Accountant & Finance Manager to focus on key spend).
- Weekly P&L summary creation based on commercial P&L and submission to group.
- Provide ledger actual cost information to CVR commercial staff for inclusion in the non-core final accounts.
- Management of the final account submissions to drive timely submissions of final accounts.
- Part of the sign of process of non-core final accounts to verify the final account submission agrees to the ledger cost & all Work Manager value is captured.
- Assistance with detailed cost audit information requests.
Roles & Responsibilities – Monthly:
- Non-core clean water workstream owner and preparation of detailed cost and accruals schedules.
- Liaise with Commercial team and appraisal of revenue recognition.
- Support and mentor Cost Accountant in the preparation of month end core work journals.
- Preparation of complex journals (such as PDAS allocations etc).
- Review of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Variance analysis of management accounts result to forecast & P&L.
- Appraisal of commercial core work DSP accrual and preparation of management accounts DSP position.
- Full reconciliation of DSP spend to forecast to actual (both cost and cash flow) by subcontractor with variance analysis.
- Management of payment applications & cash receipts. Reconcile commercial applications to actual cash receipt and work alongside Cost Accountant to maintain control of WIP balance.
- Stocktake attendance.
Roles & Responsibilities – Ad hoc:
- Ad hoc projects as required by the Finance Manager/Management Accountant. Examples include:
- Review of job costing system to ensure this matches finance ledgers.
- Preparation of detailed information (eg PDAS volume splits).
