Job description
The Salvation Army is a Christian church with over 730 corps (churches) and is the largest and most diverse provider of social welfare in the UK, after the government, operating over 80 residential social services centres. This Management Accountant job is clearly focused on enhancing and developing the management accounting and financial reporting function of this large charity. You will be responsible for providing high quality and effective management information to senior staff, and will work closely with budget holders in the preparation of budgets, providing financial advice and building financial awareness. You will also work on plans to develop management accounting across several connected Trusts. The ideal candidate will: be a qualified Accountant (CCAB) or qualified by experience; demonstrate strong technical accounting skills, with proven experience of producing management accounts; have a track record of effective provision of management information at a high level in a large organisation; have excellent communication, team-working and interpersonal skills; have experience of Agresso ideally, or other large sophisticated accounting systems, and intermediate to advanced level Excel skills, Ideally have knowledge of charity accounting.
