Job description
A high profile, industry-leading Airline is looking to hire a Management Accountant to provide a business support service to 10 different business functions across the UK and Europe regions. In this newly-created role the Management Accountant will: deliver monthly management reporting and analysis; provide sound financial analysis and input to functional unit decision-making; ensure the integrity of accounting data. Specific responsibilities for the Management Accountant include: developing the reporting pack to assist management decision-making; assisting the Finance Manager with the provision of financial, commercial and strategic support to the Management team; developing variance analysis for significant revenue and cost lines; monitoring and reconciling month end and year end accruals; performing/reviewing balance sheet reconciliations. The Management Accountant will also be responsible for: overseeing an outsourced Payroll function responding to any issues and ensuring that all reporting and statutory requirements are met; producing the quarterly forecasts; monitoring the annual plan and forecast by Line Manager; developing forecast models. The Management Accountant will also need to; support the Management team and provide them with meaningful understanding of departmental budgets, costs and finances; deputise for the Finance Manager as and when required. Suitable applicants should be Finalist or qualified Accountants (ACCA or CIMA) with previous management accounting experience in industry and exposure to dealing with budget holders.
