Job description

The Company:
Balfour Beatty already has a multibillion-pound turnover and market-leading divisions in professional services, construction, support services and infrastructure investments – and we’re determined to become a truly world-class business. We will achieve this not only via organic growth in our operating companies but by exploiting our unique integrated capabilities to the full. That’s where you come in. Our new Customer Service Centre in Newcastle will pool knowledge and expertise across the Group, whilst increasing standardisation, realising efficiency savings and generating substantial revenues through delivering shared services to external customers. You will be part of it from the very beginning.

The Role:
You will make certain that large volumes of financial transactions and documents are processed and recorded against some very strict deadlines. This will involve reviewing data for prior periods, maintaining changes in management reporting processes, extracting information and consolidating results, as well as reconciling financial and management reporting. At all times, you will closely support both internal and external customers in order to satisfy some stretching KPIs, whilst ensuring full compliance with agreed processes, controls and regulations.

What We’re Looking For:
A part-qualified Accountant (CA/CIMA/ACCA), you will possess sound experience of management accounting within a shared service operating environment. Joining us from complex large-scale organisations with diverse stakeholders, you will bring demonstrable aptitude for change management, strong understanding of management reporting systems and associated legislation, and excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Finally, it is vital that you have the confidence to challenge controls and performance, and you should be fully versed in multicurrency ERP systems (preferably Oracle).
