Job description

Operational Accountant

Objective:

To work with the FC helping shape and support Klarius’ culture and day-to-day business operations. As an Operations Accountant for Klarius UK Limited, you will join a growing team as we build our capabilities and develop the processes to maximise Klarius’ profitability. This role would suit an ambitious qualified or part-qualified Accountant who wants to make their mark on a successful Management team and develop business-partnering skills. You are a self-starter who is a great communicator and who enjoys collaborating with people with a diverse set of talents. You will have a broad skill-set including costing, VAT, production of monthly management accounts and commentary. You are a strong time-Manager, able to move at pace through process work while creating space for original thinking and analysis.

Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of timely management accounts for all Klarius UK manufacturing sites on a monthly basis to ensure accounting and financial deadlines and targets are consistently met and accurate levels of reporting achieved.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assisting in the preparation and completion of annual accounts and liaising with External Auditors as required.
  • Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Provide and proactively manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial targets for each site.
  • Assist Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger & Treasury functions.
  • Work closely with the Finance team to proactively manage debt in terms of control, debtor days, credit records, insurance and related issues.
  • Ensure ‘standard’ costing system is maintained, identifying the best method of absorbing overhead into Product costs.
  • Timely closure of stock, sales and general ledgers.
  • Ensure accurate stock valuations and coordinate stock takes for all sites.
  • Annual budget preparation.
  • Manage relationships with Operations & Production Managers throughout Klarius UK Limited.

Qualifications:
  • Qualified or part-qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA) working towards a professional qualification.
  • Experience of working within a Finance department within a Manufacturing company.
  • Proven ability to work on assigned tasks independently and provide regular progress reports.
  • Track record of providing accurate management information to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Well-developed written, oral communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Good PC skills including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel at an advanced level, and email systems.
  • Knowledge of standard costing.
  • Knowledge of absorption costing and variance analysis.

  • Ability to communicate with highly technical Management team.
  • Superior problem solving and analysis skills, combined with impeccable business judgement.
