Job description

Part Qualified Accountant - Protection and Investments Financial Management
£17,544 - £23,390 + benefits (dependent upon skills and experience)
Swindon

Nationwide's Financial Management department is growing. Join us in this role and you'll not only get exposure to a rapidly growing area of the Business but also the change to impress Senior Management both within Financial Management and the Protection and Investments area.

A more challenging role
Our Protection & Investments division is already flourishing, but we want to keep improving. As part of a three-strong team within Financial Management providing Business Partner support, you can help us achieve this. You will be involved in management accounting, forecasting and the production of month end reports as well as supporting the P&I Accountant in their role as a Business Partner. Not only will you develop accountancy experience, you'll have the opportunity to support the business and make your own mark.

A more talented person
Chances are you'll be studying for the AAT, CIMA or ACCA or starting your career as a qualified Accountant. Either way, you'll be looking to broaden your understanding of Financial Services and the key drivers behind the Performance of the P&I area. A friendly, positive addition to any team, you'll be someone who can quickly establish your credibility and use your commercial awareness to help drive improvements. We'll also be looking for strong mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills coupled with advanced knowledge of Excel (Charts, Pivots and V-Lookups). Finally, a can-do attitude, unwavering accuracy and inventive approach to problem-solving will compliment your high customer service standards.

An employer you'll be proud of
Our mutual status means we're here to benefit customers, not shareholders. Our commitment to customers, not shareholders, has always been what sets us apart from our competitors. And now, more than ever, our reputation for being open, honest and trustworthy is helping us go from strength to strength. In fact, it's made us the world's biggest building society as well as a major local employer. Underpinning it all is a commercial operation that never stands still. We're always thinking ahead, aiming higher and sharpening our competitive edge. That's why we invest in people who are not only proud of what we stand for, but who also have the talent and drive to boost our performance still further.

The rewards you deserve
If you put a lot in, it's only fair you should get a lot out. Help us continue to offer customers the best possible experience, and we'll give you all the support, recognition and rewards you deserve. As well as a great working environment and plenty of scope for development and growth, you can expect a generous package that includes pension, life assurance, healthcare and bonus scheme and study support.
