Job description
Our client based near Salisbury is seeking to recruit on an interim basis, for a period of at least 12 months, a Payroll and Pensions Systems Accountant. As part of a major re-organisation of the organisation nationally the payroll system is being migrated across the business, this role will be responsible for: data management through analysis and control, enabling an effective and accurate transfer of all contractual staff records in line with functions and activities of the new body - this process includes the disengagement of records as merger data from other bodies into the host system; the payroll and pensions department ensures that over 5000 staff paid accurately and on time; reporting directly to the Head of Accounting Services your main duties and responsibilities will be: to engage with all relevant bodies and agree appropriate data capture and transfer methodology; to draw up policies and procedures; to act as focal point for questions and advice regarding data matters; to prepare responses and liaise directly with external bodies such as NAO, HMRC and DH; to assist the Ledger Management team in reviews, so that robust systems and processes are in place; to review and revise the standard operating procedures for the Payroll and Pensions function in line with the transition. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following in their CV: professional qualification, with PQE; experience of working on a large system migration; strong communication skills; ability to stay calm when under pressure; strong Excel skills; ability to commit to at least 12 months; flexibility to travel to other sites across England.
