Job description

This role will support and assist in implementing company outsourced payroll and associated personnel processes across a multi-site retail environment. Employing in excess of 1000 people, the successful candidate will ensure monthly and fortnightly payroll cycles are completed in time with a high degree of accuracy. Main responsibilities include coordinating, collating and checking weekly timesheet and absence information whilst ensuring the database is updated accurately and timely in terms of starters & leavers, employee tax codes etc. You will assist in year end processing and have the experience and ability to process a pay cycle in the Manager's absence. You will be involved in advising on payroll matters and resolving employee queries/problems. With relevant payroll experience, you will possess a good general understanding of payroll terminology and payroll processes. You will have excellent Excel skills and an ability to analyse, manipulate and interrogate numerical information eg Vlookups/macros. Previous experience of northgate resource link aurora or similar web hosted payroll and HR information system is essential, as are good written and verbal communications with a natural ability to articulate information clearly both in letters, emails and on the telephone. Able to meet short term deadlines and work well under pressure, you will also display enthusiasm, positivity and flexibility.
