Job description

Hewitson Walker is pleased to be recruiting a Planning Accountant for a well-known Financial Services company based in Dorking. The successful applicant will work within the FP&A area as a member of the Group Planning team. Responsibility will include the preparation and analysis of Group Business Plans & the continued development of the Business planning process. It is also expected that there will be involvement in one-off tasks to model various scenarios & potentially to support M&A activity. Responsibilities: prepare group business plans, as part of the team; to include assumption setting, timetabling, tracking of process against timetable, review and quality control of information received, critical analysis & challenge of results, liaison with other technical areas and preparation of board papers; develop the business planning process including inputs & outputs; assist in the development of business planning processes & methodologies that incorporate any new businesses acquired or developed knowledge; excellent analytical capability in order to understand often complex issues with strong attention to detail & the ability to turn data into meaningful information; ability to understand the concepts underlying accounting & actuarial disciplines; good Process Manager, able to influence & motivate; strong communicator with peers and management; ability & drive to continually improve internal processes; proficient in use of financial modelling tools.
