Job description
Our client, a leading Financial Services business, is looking for an exceptional senior finance candidate to join their team in Norwich. The role is based within the Planning team which is responsible for coordinating and delivering the 3 year business plan and the quarterly forecasts including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and capital measures, together with statutory and economic solvency measures, with a range of KPIs. The purpose of this specific role is to support these activities in order that the 3 year plan and quarterly forecasts are delivered. The role will have specific responsibility for leading planning activities covering certain business areas and planning processes, operating within a close knit team environment. The role reports to the Senior Planning Manager (who has one other direct report). Key responsibilities: support the delivery of the 3 year plan and quarterly forecasts; understanding the key business activities, issues, plans and assumptions and challenging those assumptions and plans; creating financial forecasts using models, principally Excel and TM1; supporting the Head of Planning and Senior Planning Managers in the team in drafting presentations and documents for the Executive and group, including financial analysis and commentary; responsibility for planning activities for certain business areas and planning processes; ensuring plan models are built with sufficient financial control to be reliable and robust. Skills/experience: qualified Accountant; financial planning; people management; large organisation exposure; influencing abilities and delegation skills. This is an extremely commercial role and requires high level exposure to senior management. Candidates must be well rounded and technically strong.
