Project Accountant - Sales Delivery

We are looking for a for Project Accountant - Sales Delivery for our Burton Upon Trent or Crewe Sites. Please note this is a fixed term contract for 12 months.

You will provide Project Accounting support to a team of Business and Operations Controllers. Assist with completion of monthly financial information (both Month End Cycle and all Management Reporting aspects); develop standard financial tools within the portfolio of the Sales Delivery businesses, have a continuous improvement mindset to standardise and streamline financial processes.

Your Challenges:

  • Responsible for the period end transactional process (ie calculation of journal vouchers, Statistical Key Figures and ReAct for all the Sales Delivery businesses) for Crewe (incl CRD Warehouse), Heavy Maintenance and Spares businesses.
  • Assist with making the reporting of the current and budgeted/forecasted financial situation transparent to the Sales Delivery business.
  • Analysis of variances between Budget, Forecast and Actual figures and comment on them in monthly Reporting - especially Free Cash flow and Expense Summary Analysis of contract related balance sheet items with the target of a minimisation of Utilised Assets (Inventory level, Advance Payments, Accounts Receivables).
  • Support in the calculation budget and forecast figures and input into Global FORE and local system (ERP).
  • Cost Centre reporting, providing a comprehensive service to the relevant responsible in the Sales Delivery Businesses.
  • Debt Management (ie weekly reporting of debt, escalating non payment issues and checking of intercompany matching and associated cash allocation).
  • Cash flow management (ie input of figures in Cash Planner and Cash Outflows to LE, Hedging details).
  • Consolidation and Reporting of finance governance information (ie Health Check, Balance Sheet reconciliations, specific Audit packs, FX Planner).
  • Coordination of Global FORE and local system (ERP) cleansing activities.

Qualifications

Your Experience and Qualifications:

  • Working towards or obtained a relevant financial qualification eg CIMA or AAT.
  • Experience of working with SAP VCM System.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills and local ERP skills.
  • Specialist in Excel, an aptitude to learn new skills as required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong influencing ability, displays impact and presence and is able to influence and constructively challenge the Sales Delivery business.
  • Strong customer focus, both divisional and shared service centres.
  • Data driven and strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
  • Foster a can-do culture by actively seeking solutions to issues/challenges.
  • Ability to balance priorities in order that tasks are completed in logical steps to prevent deliverables being delayed.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to travel to sales delivery sites situated throughout the UK.
