Job description
A fantastic permanent opportunity has arisen for a Project Accountant to join our client, one of the area’s leading financial service’s providers, based on the outskirts of Leeds. You will be part of the support function within finance ensuring that projects are well structured and managed and meet the needs of the business. Key responsibilities of the Project Accountant position will include: managing cross-departmental projects from a financial perspective to ensure delivery in accordance with project plans; developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders from across the business, eg actuarial, sourcing and vendor management, contract management, and operations; designing and delivering financial evaluation models to support business decisions; supporting and constructively challenging key strategic initiatives driven by the business; focusing on costs, process improvements and efficiencies to contribute to the profitability of the organisation; ensure all financial costs and savings are included within the latest forecast and budget; identify business issues and report findings back to the Project Manager. The ideal Project Accountant will possess the following attributes/skills: essential: solid analytical skills, utilising both internal and external information; strong report writing and presentation building skills; commercial awareness; advanced PC skills (Excel); proactive approach; ideally CIMA Finalist level or above preferred.
