Job description
A European Design and Engineering Consultancy seeks to attract a bright Accounts Assistant to join and established team supporting all financial aspects of project accounting. You will: prepare monthly project reporting packs for teams with commentary including budget variance analysis; ensure accuracy of project data; monitor/report project/teams/service area performance; maintain the integrity of the Maconomy Project Costing module in line with the general ledger; assist with the calculation of WIP and deferred revenue/revenue recognition; deal with job reconciliations; monitor and provide management information regarding project, service line and office profitability; issue job numbers and credit checks; review invoicing and assist on invoicing if required; assist Senior Project Controller and Credit Controller; initiate continuous improvement opportunities (both system, control and procedural); build a close working relationship with other departments within the group; deliver clear and timely communication on all issues, both internal and external. You must be a bright Finance/Accounting/Accounts Assistant with ideally some project accounting or administration experience. Previous balance sheet and general ledger accounting and reconciliation experience is essential. Knowledge of revenue recognition/WIP, statutory accounting regulations and financial controls is essential. Strong IT skills including Excel are essential.
