Job description

An international Bank based in the City requires an experienced Cost Management Accountant for a project role within their Technology division. The role is a high profile position providing guidance to senior management. The contract is for 6 months and will assist the team during a busy period to provide cost expertise with the projects they currently have. Responsibilities will be: to provide expert advice and financial guidance to the BAU Technology Projects team including best practice financial management decision support; to provide cost management expertise to the project management community including budgeting, forecasting, comparison of financial performance and production of MI; to act as interface between the projects and the Technology Finance team. You will need to be a qualified Accountant with extensive project accounting experience and substantial cost centre management experience as well as accrual accounting. You will need to have a deep knowledge of project and programme accounting across multiple geographies and have a knowledge of Excel and manipulating data (pivot tables, lookups etc). This role will suit you if you have the above experience and qualifications as well as the initiative to work independently with little supervision and be able to look at current situations/processes and suggest more efficient replacements.
