Job description
A global Reinsurance business is urgently looking for a Senior Accountant for its UK operations. The role sits within the accounting and regulatory reporting function and reports to the Head of Financial Reporting. Responsibilities: produce and improve management information and processes associated; manage regulatory reporting of EMEA offices; produce and review UK MI packs, this includes contribution to commentaries for submission to EXCO and the UK board; liaise with the Financial Reporting & Analysis team to ensure the ledgers’ are to standard and all deadlines are met; prepare regulatory returns on a quarterly basis; follow up with any queries from regulators, Auditors and actuaries (internal or external) and report progress to the Head of UK Finance Branch Reporting; keep up-to-date with and prepare summaries of the impact of changes in regulations; ensure all branch costs, for example local agents and other outsource provider fees are paid on time; create and maintain a financial reporting and regulatory timetable for the branches. Experience required: qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA; general insurance experience; strong Excel experience.
