Job description

Reed Finance is currently sourcing candidates to join a leading Practice in the role of Senior Advisor. Prior experience working for/on behalf of the audit commission, NHS and or Local Government would be advantageous to your application. Purpose of the role: to work as part of a team within the Local Government and NHS department dealing with a mixed portfolio of clients working to complete systems-based accounts audits, value for money assessment work and grants certification. Principal duties: gathering of audit evidence through communication and interaction with client staff; ensure audit files have all relevant documentation on the appropriate section; check appropriate and sufficient documentation obtained to support the opinion and documenting all conclusions; active adherence to budget and timetable, bringing matters to the attention of the Manager, particularly when actual time is in excess of budget; involvement in the planning, execution and finalisation of the audit assignment supporting the Manager; ensure compliance with internal (audit methodology and risk management) and external (regulatory) requirements; develop and strengthen client relationships; add value to clients’ businesses through analysing their strengths and weaknesses and recommending effective solutions; supervise, coach and develop junior members of staff within the team, on client premises, in the office, delegating where appropriate; providing feedback on the work on less experienced staff and contributing to the appraisal process; carry out ad hoc assignments as may be reasonably required by your group; essentially you will need be a qualified Accountant: CA/ACA/ACCA/CIPFA with post qualified experience in a similar or related field.
