The Role
Continuing rapid growth across the business has necessitated the creation of a new and highly commercial role at the core of the business’s commercial operations. Working as a close business partner to the Group Commercial Director, the purpose of the role is to drive both profit & sales performance through astute financial analysis of the trading function & competitive landscape.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the Commercial Director in driving business performance by interpreting trends and spotting opportunities to drive increased margins and turnover.
- Manage & develop the data interpretation processes, interacting with all key stakeholders in the business as necessary.
- Analyse and interpret data, themes, patterns & trends through use of analysis, data modelling & manipulation techniques to provide insight and recommendations.
- Simplify complex data and present it in a compelling way to enable active commercially focused decision-making.
- Drive improved business decisions impacting on sales and profits through interaction with the Commercial Managers & other Business Managers as required.
The Candidate:
- Qualified Accountant.
- A logical, detail oriented, commercially astute individual with advanced skills in Excel, financial analysis and modelling, who can cut through high volumes of data to provide simple and clearly presented explanations for business decision makers.
- A skilled communicator at all levels, you will be adept at building productive relationships throughout the business, through which you will influence actions and business performance.
- Candidates with financial analysis/commercial support experience in mass consumer facing sectors (such as telecomms, retail (food or non-food), travel, online/e-commerce, utilities, Financial Services, FMCG) may have an advantage although the key skills may also be found in other sectors.
