This role may be based in Newbury or Paddington.

An excellent opportunity has arisen within our Group Commercial Finance department for a Senior Financial Analyst. The post holder will provide best in class Finance Business Partnering to the Vodafone Money Transfer business. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide commercial, strategic and financial expertise to enable the division to make the best decisions, maximising the return on resources and investment. Vodafone Money Transfer, or M-PESA as it is more commonly known, is the world's most successful money transfer service. It enables millions of people who have access to a mobile phone, but do not have or have only limited access to a bank account, to send and receive money, top-up airtime and make bill payments, making a huge difference to people's lives in the emerging markets.

With £260 million P&L, this area is growing at an exponential rate, as such, this is a high visibility role within the business, with regular contact and interface with the CFO of Group Commercial Finance. You must have a high level of acquired commercial knowledge and experience in a Financial Decision Support role (including an accounting background - governance/forecasting/budgeting, plus true business partnering experience, including the development of business cases for revenue generating business areas).

As a Financial Analyst your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Driving effective financial control processes, insightful financial planning and value oriented support to the business.
  • Providing commercial, strategic and financial expertise to make the best decisions, maximising the return on resources and investment.
  • Creating strategic business cases and plans for group business by coordinating all aspects of financial inputs and outputs between Business functions.
  • Contributing to the decision gate process ensuring constant evaluation of proposals and initiatives.
  • Monitoring actual performance against business cases.
  • Business modelling: running target-setting and business-scenario models supporting (projects in) business areas.
  • Interpreting data from operating companies in an intelligent manner and producing summaries.

Qualifications

As a Senior Financial Analyst your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Graduate, ACA/CIMA/ACCA or MBA qualified or with considerable depth of experience gained considerable experience in finance.
  • Sound commercial experience - blue chip experience is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Exposure to working with Senior Management teams. Proven ability to influence and build relationships at a senior level.
  • Professional credibility, drive, intellect and personal stature.
  • Highly commercial and analytical.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills developed within a commercial environment and will be confident in building strong relationships and influencing senior stakeholders. Attention to detail is paramount, as is a strong analytical background.
