Job description
University of Essex Commercial Services Ltd (UECS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Essex. The UECS Finance team has grown relatively rapidly over recent years, responding to the business needs of the organisation. Due to continued growth a unique opportunity has arisen to join our evolving Finance team within University of Essex Commercial Services Limited (UECS). Working as a Business Partner with the Senior Management team that you will support, you will be responsible for the provision of accurate and timely financial information, the production of year end accounts and be the prime point of contact for external audit. The post-holder will also have responsibility for deputising for the Head of Finance (UECS) when required including the attendance at meetings and undertaking presentations in this capacity. This is a key position within the UECS Finance section, taking responsibility for the provision of accurate and timely financial information for three key business units, accommodation Essex, Venue Essex, Print Essex and from January 2013, Wivenhoe House Hotel. Duties include: responsible to the Head of Finance; responsible for Finance Assistant and FC Wivenhoe House Hotel (from January 2013); the post holder will from time to time be required to represent Commercial Services Finance, either in attending meetings covering the whole directorate or in undertaking presentations. Skills/experience: CCAB accountancy qualification or equivalent; experience of working in a dynamic commercial environment; advanced in Excel.
