Job description

The Company:
Balfour Beatty already has a multibillion-pound turnover and market-leading divisions in professional services, construction, support services and infrastructure investments – and we’re determined to become a truly world-class business. We will achieve this not only via organic growth in our operating companies but by exploiting our unique integrated capabilities to the full. That’s where you come in. Our new Customer Service Centre in Newcastle will pool knowledge and expertise across the Group, whilst increasing standardisation, realising efficiency savings and generating substantial revenues through delivering shared services to external customers. You will be part of it from the very beginning.

The Role:
Delivering an effective and efficient financial accounting and compliance service across multiple operating companies, you will ensure the accurate processing of a high volume of transactions and documents. This will involve you in all aspects of ledger accounting, reporting and compliance and customer support and you will make certain that everything we do complies fully with evolving legislation and best practice.

What We’re Looking For:
To be equal to the challenge, you should be a graduate calibre part-qualified Accountant (CA/CIMA/ACCA) with sound experience of financial accounting in a shared service environment. Notably, you should be skilled in meeting the demands of multiple stakeholders, well versed in Financial Reporting Standards and capable of driving forward significant change. Above all, you will require incisive analytical and problem-solving skills, with a creative yet structured approach to everything you do.
