Job description

The Company:
Balfour Beatty already has a multibillion-pound turnover and market-leading divisions in professional services, construction, support services and infrastructure investments – and we’re determined to become a truly world-class business. We will achieve this not only via organic growth in our operating companies but by exploiting our unique integrated capabilities to the full. That’s where you come in. Our new Customer Service Centre in Newcastle will pool knowledge and expertise across the Group, whilst increasing standardisation, realising efficiency savings and generating substantial revenues through delivering shared services to external customers. You will be part of it from the very beginning.

The Role:
Providing guidance and leadership to a small team, you will drive the delivery of an efficient processing service for complex transactions and documentation. Operating against strict deadlines and handling large volumes of work, you and your team will actively maintain the fixed asset register, capitalise assets, process disposals, post depreciation journals, investigate and resolve any errors and communicate policies and procedures across the business units – so your impact will be considerable.

What We’re Looking For:
A Finalist in a professional accounting qualification (CA/CIMA/ACCA), you will combine a degree level education with extensive fixed asset accounting and reporting experience. At the same time, you will have the confidence to challenge accepted practices and lead a team of up to ten people and you will join us from a large-scale, complicated organisation with diverse stakeholders. This will have given you an extensive track record of supporting multiple operating companies, managing ongoing change and building fixed asset shared services.
