Purpose
To support the Senior Business Leader – Incentives and Pricing to manage the overall front-end operations of the client incentives and deals process within Russia, CIS/SEE, Middle East and Africa. The position is the critical hand off between front (London) and back office (Foster City) in relation to deal accounting. A clear strong link is required to ensure deals are correctly accounted for.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Global Incentive team to co-develop and maintain the detailed financial models used to evaluate client incentive contract offers, utilising and producing different financial outputs as appropriate (including Visa P&L, projected cash flow and amortisation schedules). Proactively propose structural changes in the evaluation methodology to the Manager and Global Incentives teams.
- Collaborate with the Finance Senior Business Leader and Finance Business Analysts in the regional offices to ensure the common evaluation models are fully understood, that deals submitted for approval are completed in compliance with policy and that the implementation of updates are managed in a controlled manner.
- Challenge deal assumptions to ensure that they are robust and risks are optimised for Visa within the deal structure.
- Collaborate and partner with Visa Finance, Sales, Legal and Client Contract Management teams to provide support and direct regarding appropriate contract structures and terms.
- Participate in the resolution of financial structure and contractual issues.
- Perform initial reviews of the deals submitted to London for approval and make change recommendations to Manager, deal owner and local Finance teams that would ensure deals are realistically estimated and Visa exposure risks are managed.
- Prepare the papers for deals being approved by the weekly International Client Incentives Group.
- Prepare the agenda for International GIG and liaise with counterparts in Singapore to ensure that this is on the appropriate meeting.
- Review and recommend changes to contract language to ensure consistency with approved financial terms.
- Prepare analysis and reports on overall incentive contract portfolio performance and returns as required.
- Proactively identify and communicate business issues and opportunities for enhancements.
- Prepare presentation documents and assist in presenting findings to all levels of management.
- Maintain the deal pipeline reporting process in CEMEA ensuring deal status reporting within CEMEA and to global is effective, accurate and timely.
- Collaborate with the Finance and Sales teams to ensure that the deal re-forecasting process is timely, materially accurate deal re-forecasts.
- Clarify queries from the Global Finance Operations team on deal structures to ensure that deals are correctly accounted for.
- Prepare all budgets and forecasts of deal P&L impacts over a 1-5 year period.
- Maintain a rolling impact of deal decision on the future yields within each geography.
Skills & Qualifications
Ideal candidate comes from a top-tier corporation and will have a demonstrated track record of strong performance and advancement in their career. Relevant industry experience may include bankcard/payments, commercial banking, investment banking, consumer products/retailing, or consulting/strategy. In addition, the candidate will bring expertise in the analysis of financial transactions. The candidate will be poised, associate well with all levels of employees within the company and proactively deliver results.
- Solid work experience, preferably within the financial, investment banking, or investment community. Knowledge of the payments industry is preferred.
- Educated to degree level with an accounting/finance professional qualification.
- Experience in investment, valuation, or transactional analysis.
- Financial transaction analysis experience preferred.
