Job description
Investment Bank with offices globally. This is an opportunity for a qualified Product Controller to join its expanding team in a varied Product Control position. Initially for 6 months, the role will be in Fixed Income and entail preparation of the daily P&L, working with the trading desk, middle office, operations, compliance, technology and other support groups to ensure a strong operational control environment is in place (eg front to back positional and P&L reconciliations, accruals, timely resolution of breaks) and understand the independent price verification process as it relates to these products, and the impact of changes in parameter models on valuation. Other responsibilities are preparation of trial balance for upload to the general ledger system and providing weekly P&L commentary. This position will also have involvement in projects including providing recommendations for automation and improvements in daily processes and work with technology and other areas to drive these projects through to completion. The successful person will need to keep management updated on material developments such as expected delays in the P&L, issues with technology feeds and pricing problems etc. You will essentially be a qualified Accountant with product control experience in fixed income. Strong analytical and problem solving skills are essential as well as the ability to work independently.
