Job description
We are currently looking for a high calibre Trainee Actuary to join a Government body, focusing on the area of pensions provision. As someone who is already progressing in their actuarial career, you will be joining an organisation renowned for the development of its staff, working in a culture of excellence and consistently high standards. You will be providing support to the actuaries on aspects of pensions provision, including assessment of scheme costs and liabilities, market testing and privatisations. This will include ongoing actuarial valuations, costs of benefit changes, value of un-funded liabilities and projection of pay-as-you-go costs. As part of your market testing responsibilities, you will carry out qualitative and quantitative tests on benefits and protections in trusts deeds and rules, and calculation of bulk transfer values. There will be countless opportunities for further ad hoc work and for you to constantly expand your professional development. You will already be progressing through your actuarial career, with an excellent academic background and proven track record of successful development and have already passed the full CT Series.
