Job description

My client, a hi-tech organisation, is currently seeking a Finance Systems Accountant. Reporting to Head of Financial Reporting the Finance Systems Accountant will act as systems support to the Finance department, building and recording knowledge of the group’s central accounting system, whilst providing financial accounting assistance as required. Key duties of the Finance Systems Accountant role will include: fully documenting the SAP and ECCS reporting system from the viewpoint of Group Finance; reviewing and documenting month end and year end procedures to ensure SAP and ECCS are fully aligned; reviewing and developing existing historical financial information database to include 2009 full year and half year financials (and half year 2010 when available). The Finance Systems Accountant position holder will also produce reports from ECCS and SAP as and when requested by members of Group Finance, as well as providing systems support to ensure Group Finance operates efficiently and meets required deadlines. The Finance Systems Accountant will bridge the functional gap between Finance and IT. The ideal candidate will possess experience of multinational Group consolidations and Excel skills including macros, look up tables, pivot tables and linking spreadsheets. Detailed knowledge of SAP R3, BI and ECCS are absolutely essential.
