Job description

A fantastic opportunity has opened for a qualified Tax Accountant in one of the most well known Legal firms. The role: computation and ongoing maintenance of individual Partners' tax reserves; collaborate with colleagues in the Partner Matters team to ensure tax reserve postings are made correctly and efficiently; supervision of junior members of the team to monitor and mitigate the impact of withholding taxes in a variety of jurisdictions in which the firm does business; assist in resolving issues affecting tax reserves for accounting periods, including preparing revised DTR claims and equalisation calculations etc for years ended, and otherwise to assist in enabling the full reconciliation of aged tax reserve balances; preparation of the UK tax computations, partnership tax returns and non-UK resident partners' composite income tax returns for a variety of undertakings, including companies, partnerships and trusts; assist in preparation of the profit share calculation which determines the amounts due to individual partners in accordance with the rules set out in the firm's LLP agreement; calculation of in-year tax reserving rates to apply to each individual Equity and non-equity member; communicate with External Advisers as required, including provision of detailed information concerning partners' sourced profits to the personal tax return preparation team; collaborate with colleagues in the Financial Reporting team in order to assist them in the maintenance of the tax/partners' funds' section of balance sheet (including statutory reporting under IFRS); participate in ad hoc projects and assist as required with all aspects of the team's work. Essential: qualified (tax or accounting qualified); LLP experience; Excel; experience dealing with senior management.
