Job description
Responsibilities will include: produce monthly/quarterly VAT returns for both HMRC and other non-statutory entities; produce monthly/quarterly VAT reconciliations to support the VAT submissions; ensure compliance with HMRC guidelines by ensuring the division is not subjected to voluntary disclosures or ad hoc audits VAT and PAYE advice either through formal guidelines or in an ad hoc manner eg email; ensure monthly bank account and other treasury balance sheet reconciliations are accurately produced and reviewed with minimal amounts of reconciling items; produce and review key control reports monitoring activities and access levels on all electronic banking systems; produce analysis for both internal and external audits; ensure objectives are agreed and reviews are completed for each member of the team. Candidates will need to be experienced Tax Managers either from within professional practice or commerce. Ideally candidates will be fully qualified however for exceptional candidates, qualification by experience will be considered. Candidates should: be numerically literate and able to understand and manipulate and report on high volumes of transactional data; have a high level of computer literacy on both corporate and Microsoft based applications; be able to effectively manage and develop a small team; have excellent written and verbal communication skills; have the ability to influence and negotiate with Senior Finance Managers to ensure key decisions, deadlines and targets are met investigative/enquiring mind to ensure the business remains compliant with current tax and treasury practice.
