Job description

An exciting opportunity for a Technical Branch Accountant has arisen at a Global Insurance and Reinsurance Group operating across the UK London Market (in. c Lloyd’s), the US market and the Bermudian Market. The role is a contract with a permanent option paying c£350 - £425 per day. Core responsibilities of the role include: the review of the UK branch MI packs for North America, Singapore and Swiss Insurance Branches. This includes contribution to commentaries for submission to the executive committee and the UK Board; the review of the MI component of the CFO report for the UK for the above branches; liaise with the Financial Reporting & Analysis team to ensure the named branches ledgers’ are to standard and all deadlines are met and ensure that efficient two-way communication exists for changes and improvements to processes; contribution to the design and implementation of new branch MI reporting processes; review of the monthly MI reporting for the above branches; the preparation and lodging of the regulatory returns for the named branches on a quarterly basis; follow up with any queries from regulators, Auditors and actuaries (internal or external) and report progress to the Head of UK Finance Branch Reporting. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Accountant or equivalent with experience within general insurance. A solid understanding of IFRS would also be advantageous.
