Job description

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Manager, UK Financial Reporting to join a blue chip Financial Services business based in Surrey. UK Financial Reporting is responsible for the financial accounting for the UK and Irish operational entities as well as providing management information, monitoring financial controls and ensuring compliance with the financial regulations of the local regulators, the FSA and the Central Bank of Ireland. These entities are highly visible to senior management and their regulated status means that strong effective controls must be maintained at all times. This will require a high degree of anticipation of the effects of business and intra group events on the entities and the ability to quickly and accurately meet demands for information about the entities in this group and their financial, regulatory and tax situation. You must be a qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) with relevant experience (not necessarily Financial Services, though this is preferred) and a highly commercial outlook. A solid awareness of current accounting and regulatory issues will be a key and this should be shown clearly in your application. Due to the nature of the team, candidates should easily be able to demonstrate experience of leading, motivating and developing a team comprising qualified Accountants. This is a challenging role and applicants will have a passion for continuous improvement and not be afraid to challenge the status quo. Someone with an audit and investment management background or straight from a Top 5 (potentially Top 10) practice is highly desirable. This role will suit someone with the potential and the desire to develop into a more senior role over time. Alongside the attractive basic salary, a generous benefits package is also on offer and will include a 25% bonus.
