The Association of Chartered Certified
Accountants (ACCA) has unveiled its new chief executive.
It announced that Helen Brand will take over the role at the global
accountancy body, from Allen Blewitt, who is returning to Australia following five years as chief executive, reports dofonline.co.uk.
Ms Brand, 43, joined ACCA in 1996 and is currently its managing director of strategy and development.
Brendan Murtagh, chairman of ACCA's renumeration committee, said the organisation was "delighted" to appoint Ms Brand following a four month global recruitment search.
"Her global understanding of the sector and experience of working with bodies, such as the International Federation of Accountants will be of great benefit in the next phase of our strategic programme to be the leading global professional accountancy body in reputation, influence and size," he added.
Britain's second-largest bank the Royal Bank of Scotland recently appointed Stephen Hester, Arthur Ryan and John McFarland to its board, the Telegraph reported.
