Big 4 firm KPMG has announced the expansion of its tax accounting team.
The firm has unveiled that Neil Henderson will join the team as a director in its London office.
Mr Henderson is set to join from rival Big 4 firm Ernst & Young, where he held the role of a director in its tax accounting, auditing and control operation.
Under the new role, it is hoped he can help lead the tax accounting team on a number of large client audits and also provide specialist knowledge on aspects of IFRS conversion projects.
Mr Henderson has said that tax accounting is "a risk that corporates cannot ignore", especially with "significant changes" to accounting standards "on the horizon".
"These all present significant challenges to corporates in terms of understanding and calculating the impact of the changes and ensuring that their controls and processes are robust enough to ensure that they continue to get the numbers and presentation correct," he added.
In other news, Accountancy Magazine reports that Ian Luder, a tax partner at Grant Thornton, has been elected as the new lord mayor of the City of London.
