
Big 4 firm Ernst & Young has recognised the achievements of business men and women.
The Ernst & Young UK entrepreneur of the year awards were held last night to celebrate entrepreneurial spirit, with Richard Harpin, chief executive of home service provider Homeserve Plc, taking the top award of UK overall entrepreneur of the year.
Other awards went to Bob Keiler, of Production Services Network, who took the business services award while Keith Neilson, of Craneware Plc scooped the science and technology award.
The special award went to Geoff Ball, of CALA Group, who was honoured for his achievements over 30 years.
Speaking about the winners, Mark Harvey, partner at Ernst & Young, said: "Bob, Keith and Geoff are thoroughly deserving of the UK Entrepreneur Of The Year titles
"The judges praised each of them for their charisma and entrepreneurial spirit."
Judges included Tony Coppel, managing director of Yahoo! Europe and Canada, and Nick Read, chief executive officer of Vodafone UK.
In related news, Ernst & Young reported last week that of the 150 global companies it surveyed, 90 per cent were taking initiative on climate change, with interest in cleantech investments.
