Ernst & Young announced 16.2% growth in worldwide revenue Big 4 firm Ernst & Young has announced that its worldwide revenues increased by 16.2 per cent year-on-year to the year ending June 30th 2008.

The firm's revenue totalled $24.5 billion (£14.13 billion), which equated to a growth of $3.4 billion from the figure for 12 months ago.

According to Ernst & Young, the growth resulted from both the introduction of new clients and services, together with investments in emerging markets.

James S. Turley, Ernst & Young global chairman, said it was an "important year" for the firm.

He added it integrated new practises, mainly across Asia, which helped to consolidate the firm as a "globally integrated professional services organisation".

"I am confident they will provide greater opportunities for our people to achieve their potential as well as provide seamless service for our clients," said Mr Turley.

Ernst & Young recently appointed Phillipe Peuch-Lestrade as the head of its new Global Government and Public Sectors Centre in Brussels.
