NFEA: Don't expect a quick recovery Accountancy graduates reading about the renewed optimism in the business market should not get too excited yet, if claims from NFEA - the national enterprise network - are anything to go by.

The body said that 2010 could be a difficult year, in spite of positive sentiment being expressed in the business world.

Government figures show that job losses have slowed, while statistics from Lloyds TSB showing that business owners are more optimistic about their future than at any other point in the past 24 months.

Meanwhile the Confederation of British Industry claimed today that the UK could exit the recession in the third quarter of 2010, albeit with a fragile and tentative recovery.

NFEA chief executive George Derbyshire explained people should not get carried away in their optimism.

"I do have concerns about next year, because confidence needs to be maintained and needs to be translated into real economic performance," he said.

Mr Derbyshire added that the "pre-election caution" could hold back investment and other important decisions.

He predicted that there could be large cuts in public expenditure after the election, which could lead to "another tough year".ADNFCR-868-ID-19526754-ADNFCR
