Accountancy graduates searching for their first full-time role could soon notice recruiters using social media as part of their employment process.
According to a recent survey, social media is becoming a priority for development among many businesses.
The careerbuilder.com poll found that almost four in ten (37 per cent) employers plan to develop their social media presence in 2010 in order to help market their firms to elite recruits.
Around one in five even plan to make it part of employees' working day to use social media for work purposes.
Jobpartners vice-president of solutions Richard Doherty explained that the form of interaction will become more and more important in "attracting and engaging with top talent".
"Key to the success of social recruiting will be to ensure that it is aligned and integrated with an organisation's existing recruitment processes and technology," he said.
Mr Doherty added that corporate recruiters were likely to follow in the footsteps of agencies and use social networks to provide information about their company to interested individuals.
