Minister responds to graduate recruitment survey Higher education minister David Lammy has responded to the recent graduate recruitment survey carried out by the Association of Graduate Recruiters.

The politician suggested that a degree is still a worthwhile qualification with employment rates higher for graduates than those non-graduates.

He added that the research shows that some areas of the jobs market are growing and that students should not necessarily be overly concerned by the apparent struggle to secure full-time work in their chosen industry.

Mr Lammy added that there are ways to effectively get on the fast track to finding a job and that students need to show initiative to achieve this.

"Internships are great way for graduates to kick start their careers by gaining the valuable skills and work experience at a time when they face a more competitive job market," he said.

Meanwhile, the Association of Graduate recruiters recently revealed that the average graduate salary has been frozen at £25,000 for the second consecutive year.ADNFCR-868-ID-19605252-ADNFCR
