Green consultancy acquisition gives Deloitte environmental boost A green consultancy has been acquired by accountancy firm Deloitte in order to enhance its sustainability consulting practice.

Guy Battle, founder and director of dcarbon8 will join as partner and help to integrate the consultancy adviser into Deloitte's practice.

He recognises that the challenges are great for businesses as the world moves towards a low carbon economy.

dcarbon8's expertise in carbon footprint, water and sustainability advisor services will enhance the firm's existing credentials, Deloitte chief executive officer John Connolly believes.

The company, which can deliver Planet Positive and Carbon Trust certification of business, products and buildings, concentrates on products and complex supply chains.

A survey carried out by Deloitte recently aimed to establish how ready companies in Yorkshire are to cope with the introduction of the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme in April.

Even though 90 per cent were aware of the mandatory scheme, which requires monitoring and reporting of electricity, gas and other fuel consumption, just 60 per cent felt they were ready to satisfy them.ADNFCR-868-ID-19653022-ADNFCR
