UK finance chiefs hope to attract talent by boosting salaries Finance leaders based in the UK are planning to hire staff again and boost salaries in order to attract talent, the latest Robert Half Chief Financial Officer Confidence Index shows.

The specialist recruitment firm's bi-annual index shows the UK job market could improve this year.

Nearly one in five chief financial officers (CFO) said their firms intend to recruit permanent accounting and finance staff in the next six months.

Last year, just one per cent of those surveyed said they planned to hire. The previous year's survey also discovered 84 per cent of finance chiefs were pessimistic about their company's prospects.

This year, the index found nearly half of CFOs and finance directors were more confident about their firm's economic prospects over the next six months.

California-based Accountants International also carried out a survey that made some promising discoveries. It found that the majority of the firms that took part are hiring or planning to recruit accounting and finance staff this year, WebCPA.com reported.
