Investec's new division caters for music and film industry A new division launched by UK wealth manager Investec Specialist Private Bank will target wealthy individuals in the music and film industry.

Music and entertainment stars, managers and agents will be targeted as the firm, which is part of South African-based Investec, believes they are currently under-serviced.

Head of specialist banking at the firm Nicky Walden said: "During our discussions with leading individuals in the entertainment industry it became apparent that this is an area that has largely been under serviced by the financial services sector."

The bank has joined forces with F10, a music sponsorship company, to cater for the needs of the entertainment industry.

Many individuals in the music and entertainment industry can find it difficult to secure a mortgage or loan as it is hard to define the income of entrepreneurs that work in the sector, Investec explained.

Following the latest reshuffle of the UK stock market indexes, the company joined the FTSE 100 this month.
