Firms recognised for intern schemes Accountancy graduates looking to gain some valuable work experience may be interested in the results of a recent competition.

The National Work Experience Awards honoured TUI Travel, bestowing upon it the title of Best Work Experience Provider.

Barclays and the BBC were also given awards, while Pinsent Masons LLP was handed the Best Work Placement Diversity Scheme prize.

A good internship should mean that both parties are open and honest with each other from the start about their expectations, according to hirescores.com.

Spokesperson Lisette Howlett explained that having agreed objectives is important to the success of the partnership.

"If they are positioned just as a source of flexible and/or cheap labour, they will not be set up for success - employers will have unmotivated, needy temporary employees and interns will get no development and [will simply perform] ad hoc or mundane tasks," she said.

The National Work Experience Awards took place yesterday (March 24th) in Merchant Taylors' Hall in London.ADNFCR-868-ID-19689411-ADNFCR
