A new
ICAS qualification specialising in tax will be offered to
KPMG graduates.
Students have the option to take the
tax practice qualification on its own or combined with the existing CA qualification.
ICAS said: “Over 100 students will be starting the qualification in Autumn 2011, all of whom in the first intake will be from KPMG Tax Business School. We are also in discussion with a number of other firms, of all sizes, throughout the UK, for 2012 and beyond.”
Although KPMG did not sponsor the qualification, it has been tailored especially so that students who attain the qualification will be well-prepared to meet KPMG’s business needs and match the required skill level to work at the
Big 4 firm.
This follows an earlier
news story on GAAPweb that revealed a partnership between KPMG, Durham University and the ICAEW to develop a new professional chartered accountancy qualification.
